Privacy Policy
Effective September 11, 2026
MUSTER is a single-player game from CapLock Games. It does not require a separate game account and has no advertising. This policy explains what the game stores, its optional gameplay analytics, and this website's audience measurement.
What the game stores
- Your save file. Run progress, settings, control bindings and unlocks are written to a local save file on your device by the game engine (Godot). It stays on your machine. If you play through Steam and enable Steam Cloud, Steam may sync that file across your devices under Steam's own terms.
- Your analytics choice. The game stores whether you accepted or declined usage sharing on your device so it can remember your choice.
Optional game analytics
MUSTER can share limited gameplay data with GameAnalytics to help CapLock Games understand progression, balance, retention, and where the game needs improvement. The game makes no GameAnalytics request until you explicitly choose Share Usage. Choosing No Thanks leaves this collection off and does not prevent you from playing.
When you opt in, the game may send:
- Sessions and runs: session duration, game/build version, prior run count, whether Steam is available, starts, suspensions, resumes and outcomes, selected barrow and difficulty, floor progress, and run totals.
- Fights and progression: a summary of each fight's outcome, duration, damage, healing, rewards, party/enemy counts and related counters; recruitment, losses, unit levels and talent-point totals, and achievements.
- Gameplay choices and settings: built-in unit types, roles, relics and bosses; onboarding actions; and settings such as fullscreen, audio volumes, battle speed, screenshake, camera inversion, rumble, and input/prompt style.
- Technical metadata: a random persistent GameAnalytics installation identifier, platform and operating-system/device information, and network/IP-derived country and related metadata processed by GameAnalytics when receiving events.
MUSTER does not send your Steam ID, Steam name, generated digger names, email address, controller identifier, raw board coordinates, raw error logs, or chat/message content to GameAnalytics. It does not enable GameAnalytics hardware-health collection, automatic error reporting, advertising identifiers, or an external user ID.
GameAnalytics ApS processes these data as our analytics service provider. The random installation identifier lets it associate sessions from the same installation; it is not your Steam identity.
Your choice and retention
You can change your choice at any time under Settings → Share Usage Data. Turning sharing off stops new gameplay-event submission and keeps GameAnalytics from initializing on later launches. It does not erase data already received by GameAnalytics, which may remain for the applicable retention period under our account settings and the service's terms. We do not maintain a separate raw gameplay-analytics warehouse.
Questions or deletion requests can be sent to hello@mustergame.com. Deleting local game files does not delete analytics already sent.
The store platform (Steam)
If you buy or run MUSTER through Steam, Valve Corporation operates the store, download, ownership check, achievements, playtime and any Cloud saves. That processing is governed by the Steam Privacy Policy, not by this one. Steam provides us with aggregate sales and wishlist figures. Valve handles the account and payment information associated with your purchases.
This website
mustergame.com is a static site. It uses Vercel Web Analytics and PostHog to understand aggregate site use and improve the website. This includes page visits and time on page, referring sites and campaign tags, approximate location, browser, operating system and device type, performance and script errors, scroll and section depth, time spent with the page visible, navigation and wishlist-button views and clicks, press-asset download clicks, gameplay preview controls, and trailer playback milestones. Allowlisted campaign labels may be carried in links between website pages and to Steam to measure campaign performance.
PostHog is configured in cookieless mode. We do not use PostHog cookies or browser storage, create person profiles, identify visitors, record sessions, or capture page text or form fields. Page and referrer URLs are stripped of fragments and non-campaign query parameters, including inside JavaScript error reports. PostHog uses a privacy-preserving server-generated hash for anonymous audience measurement. PostHog is not loaded when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. Vercel Web Analytics is also cookie-free. Our web host may separately keep standard access logs for security and reliability.
Children
MUSTER is a general-audience game. Optional gameplay analytics remain off unless usage sharing is accepted. Parents or guardians with questions about a child's data can contact us below. The website analytics described above are intended only for aggregate audience measurement and are not used to identify visitors of any age.
Your rights
We do not collect names or email addresses through website analytics and do not create visitor profiles, so we generally cannot connect analytics events to a particular person. Questions or privacy-rights requests can be sent using the contact below. To remove local game data, delete the game's save file or uninstall the game; to manage Cloud saves or purchase data, use your Steam account settings.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new effective date.
